Pinch and a Punch

Gosh it’s July already…

The mornings are freezing… at a lovely 1 degree. Training at night until sometimes 9:30pm is getting cold. It’s worse when it rains.

I have two night matches this weekend. 8:30 on sat, and 7 on sun – there goes my weekend… so tomorrow night is going to be the big one..

Found an old skate deck in my garage from the time I did the Extortion Australia Tour back in Jan 08 i think..
Deliberating whether to put wheels on, or sand it up, and paint the crap out of it..

I think perhaps paint it. Saw Callum’s video and it’s inspired me to do more art, plus my Mindsnare Deck could do with some company on the wall.

In other news, an established band has asked me to be a part of their band. They are definitely no where near as heavy as the last band I was in, but I really like their style, and they definitely have the potential to crack the market effectively. The only problem is, the amount of touring that they would have planned.

I’m just not sure I can commit to that amount of time being on the road, especially with the careers I have at the moment. Ah, the decisions.

Our tradition..

Not much longer now, till we fulfill our tradition of going down south for our core group’s HEN”S WEEKEND.

The first one to get hitched was Chantelle almost 3 years ago.
This is the tour of our pad!

Clare, you’re next!!

So last year Break Even were luckily enough to be offered the Asian leg of the Have Heart Tour, as well as the Australian leg.

So off we headed, ASIA!
As you you probably already know, this was Have Heart’s last overseas tour, before breaking up.
They played in KL and in Singapore.
KL was an overnighter trip, so we were based in Singapore and stayed at the notorious VM’s house. Hi VM!
So there was BE, Hartley, myself, Stefan’s gf and another girl all crammed into Vm’s apartment.
Good times.

The weather was fantastic, the food cheap – the boys loved the fact that street drinking was legal, and we had a sweet time with the HH boys.

The funniest thing was not Stefan getting busted naked, mounting a concrete dolphin at a swimming pool by security guards, when the pool had been closed for the night, but how all the locals thought that Hartley was Nick from Miles Away.

The whole time we played it up. Called him Nick, mentioned MA as much as we could.
The locals frothed.

We took advantage.
Here’s a clip showing just how far we all took it.

Band Tour..

So it was a crazy couple of days earlier this year, when some of us made the trip to Asia. It was Have Heart’s last Asian shows before breaking up, and Break Even’s first International shows.
We were all crashing at Surfside Singapore, and Nazi Zombies was on our agenda on a daily basis.
The shopping was cheap, the street drinking laws much appreciated by many in our party and the fact that you could buy alcohol from service stations and normal grocery stores.

Hartley also decided to take advantage of the cheap flights at this stage and joined in on the tour.
It didn’t take us long to notice that the locals thought that Hartley was Nick from Miles Away.

To say we milked it, was an understatement. Here is one example.
